Did Ukraine's air defences gain NASAMS by 8 November 2022?
A look back at the arrival of the first NASAMS delivery, reported just before 8 November 2022, and a Polish border announcement from days earlier.

What had changed for Ukraine's air defences by 8 November 2022? A day earlier, on 7 November, Kyiv confirmed that it had received the first delivery of the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system.
Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov said the system would significantly strengthen Ukraine's armed forces. The confirmation was part of the foreign aid to Ukraine during the Russian invasion that began in 2022.
The quotation marks are not needed here: the minister's assessment was simply that the delivery would add notable capability to the armed forces.
Poland's border plan
Elsewhere in the region, on 2 November, Poland's Minister of National Defence, Mariusz Błaszczak, announced the construction of a barrier along the border with the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. Poland believed that Russia would use the border to illegally transport African and Asian immigrants to Europe.
