Did Ukraine's parliament drop e-declarations for activists? Events of 4 April 2018
A look back at the Ukraine–Turkey aviation agreement signed on 4 April 2018 and the parliamentary vote a day earlier on anti-corruption disclosure.

What happened in Ukrainian public life around 4 April 2018? On that date, Ukraine and Turkey signed an agreement aimed at improving aviation co-operation.
The agreement followed a notable parliamentary decision on 3 April 2018. The Verkhovna Rada rejected two bills that would have scrapped electronic asset declarations for civic activists: presidential bill No. 6674 and a bill from deputies, No. 6271. With both rejected, the e-declaration requirement for activists was not repealed by these proposals.
The vote concerned the e-declaration system, which required disclosure of assets, and the bills sought to remove that obligation for people working in civil society.
Regional context
