Ukraine's parliament and top court reshaped the rules in June 2019
A look back at the legislative and constitutional developments reported in Ukraine on 6 June 2019, and at a US warning to Turkey on 7 June 2019.

What did Ukraine's institutions do in the days leading up to 7 June 2019? Two decisions reported on 6 June 2019 stood out.
On that date the Verkhovna Rada passed the Law on Temporary Investigative Commissions and Temporary Special Commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The law regulates the procedure for impeaching the President of Ukraine.
The same day, the Constitutional Court of Ukraine ruled certain provisions unconstitutional in two areas. The first concerned the e-declaration requirements applied to civic activists. The second, brought to the court at the request of a plant owned by Kolomoisky, concerned the right of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) to seek to have corrupt deals declared invalid. The court found the relevant provisions unconstitutional in both cases.
Beyond Ukraine
On 7 June 2019, the United States notified Turkey that it would cancel Turkey's purchase of F-35 fighter jets if the Turkish government went ahead with buying Russia's S-400 missile defence system.
