What did Kyiv's drone mission to Denmark involve?

A look back at developments reported on 30 September 2025, as the covered day of 2 October 2025 approached.

What was Ukraine doing to bolster European security and its EU path in the days leading up to 2 October 2025? Two reports dated 30 September 2025 offer an answer.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy deployed a military mission to Denmark. Its purpose was to share Ukraine's expertise in countering Russian drones. The deployment came as European countries planned a joint "drone wall" project to strengthen airspace defence.

On the same date, it was reported that Ukraine had completed the screening process assessing how far its legislation aligns with the acquis communautaire, the body of EU law, as part of its path towards EU membership.

Together, the reports show Kyiv pursuing two tracks at once: offering practical defence know-how to a European partner and advancing the technical groundwork of EU accession.
