A look back at drone strikes on both sides of the border and a Russian wanted list naming Ukrainian and European figures.

What did the war look like in the days leading up to 6 May 2024? The reports from that period described strikes crossing the border in both directions, alongside a legal gesture from Moscow aimed at political leaders.

On 6 May 2024, six people were killed and 35 others injured in Ukrainian drone attacks in Belgorod Oblast, Russia. It was the heaviest toll among the reported incidents of those days.

Two days earlier, on 4 May 2024, Russian overnight drone strikes on the Kharkiv and Dnipro regions of Ukraine killed two people and injured six others.

Also on 4 May 2024, Russian state media reported that a number of officials from Ukraine and NATO countries had been placed on Russia's wanted list. Those named included Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, former president Petro Poroshenko, Ukrainian Ground Forces commander Oleksandr Pavlyuk and Estonian prime minister Kaja Kallas. Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs did not state what crimes the listed individuals were charged with, nor did it clarify the allegations against them.

Taken together, the reports of 4–6 May 2024 recorded civilian and personal costs on both sides of the border, and a list that named political figures without any stated charges.
