A look back at four incidents reported between 24 and 27 October 2025, each with civilian casualties, as the covered day approached.

What did the reports reaching Kyiv's public look like on 29 October 2025? They were a run of incidents in which ordinary people were killed or hurt, in the days just before that date.

On 24 October, an explosion at the railway station in Ovruch killed four people, including the perpetrator, and injured 12 others.

On 26 October, a Russian drone struck a minibus in Mykolaivka, in Sumy Raion, Sumy Oblast. One person was killed and 13 were injured, two of them seriously. The strike was reported as part of the 2025 Sumy offensive.

The same day, a Ukrainian drone strike on an apartment building in Russian-controlled Donetsk was reported to have killed two people, including an elderly woman, and injured another.

On 27 October, a floating crane overturned at the Sevastopol shipbuilding yard, killing two people.

Taken together, these reports cover the days that preceded 29 October 2025. They record deaths on a railway platform, on a minibus, in an apartment block and at a shipyard, and they show how widely such losses were spread across places and circumstances.
