Who took the top posts after Ukraine's new parliament convened?
A look back at the appointments made on 29 August 2019, days before 2 September 2019.

What did Ukraine's new leadership line-up look like on 2 September 2019? It rested on decisions taken three days earlier, on 29 August 2019, when the ninth convocation of the Verkhovna Rada held its first sitting.
At that sitting the chamber elected Dmytro Razumkov as its chair. It also named Oleksiy Honcharuk as Prime Minister and Ivan Bakanov as head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
What the appointments meant
The three decisions placed the main posts in the legislature, the government and the security service in the hands of new officials at the very start of the new parliament's work. Honcharuk's confirmation as Prime Minister meant the cabinet had a new head from the opening sitting, while the choice of a chair settled who would run the Rada's proceedings.
The pairing of a parliamentary sitting with the naming of a prime minister and a security chief on the same day marked the first sitting as a moment of wide personnel change. By 2 September 2019, the new officeholders were in place and the work of the ninth Rada had begun.
