A look back at the day Ukraine's president announced government changes and named a prime ministerial candidate, while Washington spoke of Patriot systems for Kyiv.

What did Ukraine's government look like after the announcement of 14 July 2025? President Zelenskyy said that day that he was reshuffling the government and nominated Yulia Svyrydenko as prime minister.

The move set off a quick sequence. Outgoing prime minister Denys Shmyhal submitted his resignation the next day, 15 July, and the Verkhovna Rada accepted it on 16 July.

Patriot announcement from Washington

On the same date, United States president Donald Trump announced that several NATO allies would buy U.S.-made weapons, including Patriot air defence missile systems, to provide to Ukraine.

The two announcements, one on domestic government and one on military supply, fell on the same day.
