Crimea court jails Jehovah's Witness; Polish general tests positive
A look back at two developments reported around 10 March 2020, one in Crimea and one in Poland.

What was reported on 10 March 2020, and what had come just before it? On that date, Poland's Ministry of National Defence announced on Twitter that General Commander Jarosław Mika had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from Germany. He became the highest-ranking member of NATO's armed forces to be infected.
A few days earlier, on 5 March 2020, a court in Russian-controlled Crimea sentenced a Jehovah's Witness to six years in prison for activities of a banned extremist organisation. Activists said the sentence was part of a crackdown that violates religious freedom.
The two reports concerned different matters: a public-health case reaching the senior ranks of a NATO member's military, and a court ruling in occupied Crimea that activists criticised as a breach of religious freedom.
