Ukraine's coronavirus quarantine rules: what changed by 10 April 2020

A look back at the restrictions on public movement that Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers had put into force days before 10 April 2020.

What did life under quarantine look like in Ukraine on 10 April 2020? By then, a set of restrictions imposed by the Cabinet of Ministers had been in force for several days, having taken effect on 6 April 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.

The rules banned being in public places without a mask or respirator, and without documents. They also barred walks in parks and public gardens and prohibited moving around in groups of more than two people.

The government also required people over the age of 60 to self-isolate for the duration of the quarantine.

Taken together, the measures set out in the Cabinet's decision reached into everyday habits: how people left home, whom they went out with, and where they could spend time outdoors.
