A look back at three consecutive days of record figures reported in Ukraine in late March 2021.

How fast was COVID-19 spreading in Ukraine by 26 March 2021? The figures reported that day gave a stark answer: a record 18,132 new confirmed cases in 24 hours, bringing the nationwide total of confirmed cases to 1,614,707.
The number topped a record set only a day earlier. On 25 March 2021, Ukraine had reported 16,669 new confirmed cases and 362 deaths in the previous 24 hours. That took the total of confirmed cases to 1,596,575 and the nationwide death toll to 31,135.
A run of records
The daily death figures had also been climbing. On 24 March 2021, Ukraine reported a single-day record of 343 deaths from COVID-19, the second consecutive day on which a record was set. The nationwide death toll then stood at 30,773.
Taken together, the reports from 24, 25 and 26 March 2021 show a three-day stretch in which records were set for both deaths and new cases. Between the reports of 24 and 25 March, the death toll rose from 30,773 to 31,135, and the number of confirmed cases rose by more than 18,000 between the reports of 25 and 26 March.
