Posted: | Filed under: Regions | by Borderland staff

A look back at a day of strikes in Kharkiv Oblast and drone attacks on a refinery in Volgograd Oblast.

What did the war look like in Ukraine's regions on 11 February 2026? It was a day of deadly strikes in the east and of drone attacks across the border in Russia.

In Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian airstrike on Bohodukhiv killed four people and injured two others.

The same day, the Volgograd refinery in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, was ablaze after being attacked overnight by Ukrainian drones. Multiple explosions were reported at the site, and Volgograd International Airport was closed in response to the attack.

The days before

The strike on Bohodukhiv followed other attacks on Ukrainian communities in the preceding days. On 10 February 2026, a Russian airstrike on Sloviansk, in Donetsk Oblast, killed two people.

On 9 February 2026, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using drones and ballistic missiles. It killed at least six people, among them a 10-year-old boy and his mother in Kharkiv, and injured dozens of others.

Taken together, these reports show the pattern of the days around 11 February 2026: civilians were killed in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts, while Ukrainian drones struck an industrial target in Volgograd Oblast.
