Dnipro missile strike injured eighteen people on 2 April 2024

A look back at a Russian missile strike on Dnipro that wounded children, and at an earlier guided bomb attack on Kharkiv.

What did a single day of Russian strikes mean for Ukraine's regional cities? On 2 April 2024, a Russian missile strike on Dnipro injured eighteen people, five of them children.

The attack on Dnipro came days after another assault on a regional centre. On 27 March 2024, Russian guided bomb strikes on Kharkiv killed one person and injured sixteen others.

Taken together, the two reports show civilians being wounded in cities far from one another. Both Dnipro and Kharkiv were hit in the span of about a week, and in each case the casualties were reported among residents. The 2 April strike was notable for the number of children among the injured.
