Drone strikes hit Odesa and Dnipro in consecutive days

Posted: | Filed under: Regions | by Borderland staff

A look back at the Russian drone attacks on two Ukrainian cities reported on 23 and 24 April 2026.

What did Russia's drone attacks cost Ukrainian cities in the final days of April? On 24 April 2026, a Russian drone strike on Odesa killed two people, according to reports at the time.

The attack followed another one a day earlier, on 23 April, in Dnipro, in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. An overnight Russian drone strike hit a 13-storey apartment building there. Three people were killed and ten others were injured.

Together, the two strikes pointed to civilian areas in two different regions of Ukraine being hit within a span of two days. In both cases the reports described drones as the weapon used.

Dnipro's wider toll

Dnipro had been attacked before. Later accounts of the Dnipro strikes that began in 2022 describe repeated Russian missile attacks on the city, with more than one hundred civilian deaths and about one thousand injuries overall. The residential building hit on 23 April added to that record of harm.

The reports from 24 April gave no further detail on the Odesa attack beyond the two deaths.
