A look back at police scandal, a market shooting, minor tremors, an online awards ceremony and a reported abduction at the Crimea line.

What did Ukraine's news look like on 5 June 2020, and in the days just before it? The reports from 30 May to 4 June 2020 mixed law enforcement scandal, public safety and culture, and one incident at the boundary with Crimea.
The most recent report concerned Pavlohrad, in Dnipropetrovsk region. On 4 June 2020 it was reported that a gang of police officers had been exposed there, organised by Dmytro Serdiuk, the head of the local police station.
Two days earlier, on 2 June 2020, shooting broke out at the Seventh Kilometre market in Odesa. Two people were injured and ten were detained.
Tremors and a ceremony
On 1 June 2020, two earthquakes were recorded in Ivano-Frankivsk region, with their epicentre near the town of Dolyna. They had magnitudes of 3.2 and 2.7, and no one was hurt.
On 31 May 2020, the winners of the 2020 Golden Firebird (Zolota Zhar-ptytsia) awards were announced online. Oleh Vynnyk was named singer of the year, and Nastia Kamenskykh singer of the year among women.
An incident on the Crimea line
The earliest report in this sequence came from 30 May 2020. At about 05:00, at the Berloha observation post on the line of control with Crimea, Russia abducted senior soldier Yevhen Dobrynskyi while he was on duty.
Taken together, the reports show a few days in which crime and security incidents sat alongside a cultural event held online.
