Odesa Oblast port struck as Russian forces reportedly advance in Donetsk

A look back at 10 July 2024, when drone and missile attacks killed two people in southern Ukraine, a day after a reported capture in the east.

What did the war look like on 10 July 2024? In the south and the east of Ukraine, it brought deaths, damaged infrastructure and a reported shift on the front line.

On 10 July 2024, Russian drone and missile attacks hit a port in southern Odesa Oblast. Two Ukrainians were killed. The strikes damaged port infrastructure, an energy facility and a civilian ship.

Reported gains in Donetsk Oblast

The day before, on 9 July 2024, Russian forces reportedly captured the village of Yasnobrodivka in Donetsk Oblast, on the eastern front of the war.

Taken together, the two reports show pressure on Ukraine from different directions on consecutive days: attacks on port facilities in the south and a reported advance on the ground in the east.
