Siversk and Kamianka-Dniprovska: civilian deaths reported on 9 January 2025

A look back at reports of artillery strikes in two frontline areas, a day after heavy casualties in Zaporizhzhia.

What did the front-line regions report on 9 January 2025? The day's reports recorded more civilian deaths, this time from artillery fire in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

In Siversk, in Donetsk Oblast, Russian artillery strikes killed two people, according to the region's governor. In Kamianka-Dniprovska, in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, an area under Russian control, the region's Russia-appointed governor said that two people had been killed by Ukrainian artillery strikes.

The day before

The reports came after 8 January 2025, when Russian forces attacked an industrial facility in Zaporizhzhia, killing 13 people and injuring 18 others. Further strikes on the city with guided aerial bombs that day killed 13 more people and injured 32 others.

Taken together, the reports from 8 and 9 January 2025 show civilians being killed in several parts of the front-line regions within two days.
