A look back at two fatal incidents reported in the days around 27 October 2025, one at a shipyard and one at a railway station.

What did the news record on 27 October 2025 beyond the usual flow of political reports? Among the items was an industrial accident at the Sevastopol shipyard, where a floating crane overturned and two people were killed.

The accident came three days after another deadly incident, reported on 24 October 2025. An explosion at the railway station in Ovruch killed four people, the perpetrator among them, and left 12 others wounded.

The two events were unrelated: one was a workplace accident involving heavy equipment, the other an explosion at a transport hub. Each, as reported at the time, ended in deaths among people who were at work or travelling through ordinary public places.

The reports gave these figures: two dead in Sevastopol; four dead and 12 injured in Ovruch.
