Two reports from early June 2020, one from Dnipropetrovsk region and one from Odesa, put regional law enforcement and public safety in focus.

What was happening in Ukraine's regions on 8 June 2020 in the area of law and order? Two reports from the days before that date set the picture.

On 4 June 2020, a gang of police officers was exposed in Pavlohrad, in Dnipropetrovsk region. It was organised by Dmytro Serdiuk, the head of the local police station.

Two days earlier, on 2 June 2020, shooting broke out at the Seventh Kilometre market in Odesa. Two people were injured and 10 were detained.

The two incidents were unconnected in the reports, which placed them in different parts of the country. Taken together, they marked the start of that June as one of attention to policing and security in the regions.
