A look back at reports from Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts in the days before 10 February 2025.

What was happening in Ukraine's frontline regions as of 10 February 2025? Reports from the preceding days pointed to continued fighting in the east and strikes on residential areas in the north-east.

On 7 February 2025, Russia said its forces had taken full control of Toretsk in Donetsk Oblast, after months of urban warfare. That was Russia's own claim, made at the end of a prolonged battle for the town.

Civilian areas were also hit. On 6 February 2025, Ukrainian officials said three people were killed in a Russian guided bomb attack that destroyed a residential building in Myropillia, Sumy Oblast.

Two days earlier, on 4 February 2025, a Russian missile struck a residential building in Izium, Kharkiv Oblast. Four people were killed and twenty others injured.

Taken together, the reports from 4 to 7 February 2025 covered three regions: Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv. In each, the war reached either a contested town or the homes of residents.
