A look back at Russian strikes on Ukrainian oblasts reported in the days leading up to 10 January 2024.

How much had Ukraine's regions already suffered by 10 January 2024? Reports from the preceding days show a pattern of heavy strikes across several oblasts.

On 6 January 2024, Russian forces attacked Pokrovsk Raion in Donetsk Oblast with S-300 missiles, according to local authorities. At least 11 people were killed, including five children, and eight others were injured.

Two days later, on 8 January 2024, Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack across the country. At least four people were killed and 38 injured in Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts. Ukraine said it shot down all eight drones and 18 of the 51 missiles.

Taken together, the two attacks touched oblasts in the east, south-east and west of the country in the space of three days, and the reported toll from them was at least 15 dead and 46 injured.
