What Ukraine's transport restrictions looked like by 24 March 2020
A look back at the measures against coronavirus that curtailed travel across the country in the days before 24 March 2020.

What did daily life in Ukraine look like by 24 March 2020? Days earlier, on 18 March 2020, the country had moved to limit the spread of coronavirus infection by sharply restricting how people could travel.
As reported at the time, rail, bus and air services across the country were halted. The metro was set to close, while minibuses, trolleybuses and trams were to keep running only with restrictions.
The measures were introduced explicitly to curb the spread of the infection, and they reached most of the public transport that people relied on in cities and between them.
The same day, 18 March 2020, another development took place in public life: the law "On Complete General Secondary Education" entered into force. It was a separate matter from the health restrictions, but it fell on the same date.
